Red Château d’Estoublon • 2019

Wine with a garnet-red color. The nose is powerful, with notes of prune and smashed blackberry underlined by hints of chocolate, roasted cocoa, sweet spices and cedar. On the palate, it is powerful and concentrated, reflecting the characteristics of this hot, dry vintage, underpinned by characterful tannins.

Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cabernet-Sauvignon.

Clay-limestone and sandy-loam, gravelly.

12 months in 32 hl foudres, amphorae made of natural concrete and stainless-steel.

2019 was marked by dry weather until autumn, accompanied by a very hot summer. The vines proved their resilience to these climatic conditions, producing powerful berries and well-concentrated juice. The harvest was no earlier, however, as we had to wait for cooler nights to pick the grapes, which produced lovely aromas and impeccable health. Although the quantity harvested was modest compared with previous years, the quality obtained was nonetheless exceptional, revealing a gourmet, highly aromatic vintage.
